I am…
It’s hard to sit here and try to
reveal what makes me who I am when I’m not even 100% sure myself. It’s hard to
look back on my own behavior and categorize it with a personality trait or a
type of person. And it’s hard to think of gifts that I have, maybe because in
general we are so used to pointing out the negative things about ourselves
rather than the positive things.
With all of that aside, I will put down what I know, or I
think I know about myself.
I am a traveler; I love to daydream
about where I’m going next and about my past experiences in different places.
Most of my money goes to airplane tickets.
I am not a picky eater. This is
where the rest of my money goes. I love to enjoy all types of different foods.
I look forward to my 3 meals a day… or maybe 4… or 5….
I am social. I love being around
people for almost everything I do. I love meeting new people, or just people
watching.
I am a hard worker. I’ve been
consistently working at least one job and going to school full time since I was
15. I can get things done.
I am a thrill seeker. I love being
spontaneous and trying new things. Gotta’ get that adrenaline pumping!
I am a procrastinator. Although I
do get things done, I can very often wait until there is a urgent deadline so
that I HAVE to do it that night. It is so hard for me to pass up an opportunity
to go to the beach with my friends, or out to eat, or just the fact that it’s a
beautiful day to stay at home doing homework instead.
I am active. Although I absolutely
love sleeping in, if I wake up too late, I feel like I’ve wasted the whole day.
I like to ride bikes, play soccer, go swimming, hiking, and running. I’ll do
almost anything outdoors.
I am impulsive. For the better or
the worse, sometimes I forget to think before I speak, or I don’t think too
much before I do something. This can definitely work to my advantage but also
to my disadvantage.
Some of the gifts that I can bring
to the classroom are:
I am open-minded. I like to participate as long as I’m not
the only person doing it. I love debating, but I have to know my stuff before!
I don’t have a problem being a leader and organizer for discussions or
projects. I can be outgoing, yet listen to others as well!
Traveling is such a fun thing to do. It is so amazing to explore new places and meet new people. I think that it is super cool that you get the opportunity to travel so much and put your money towards something that you love to do. I am not a picky eater either. I am always snaking and racking up 5 or 6 meals a day. Working while in school is very good and it keeps allowing you to get money to travel. Being outdoors is great and having a beautiful place to play sports in is even better. I look forward to having another English class with you.
ReplyDeleteWell Jessica, it seems to me like you are a very fun and outgoing person, great qualities i might add. I can relate to some of the things that you have listed here, such as being super energetic and wanting to go be active and explore and play all kinds of sports, it's awesome to go out and try new things. I also really like that you procrastinate because that is the story of my life haha, I always wait till at least the day before or two days before an assignment is due until i actually motivate myself to finish the work. I don't know why but it works for me and i'm cool with that. Eating is one of the better things in life and i'm glad you see it that way too because it is something that ties in almost all of the senses in a great way. I like that i was able to learn more about you just from this little post because I didn't get to learn too much even though we went to high school together. I look forward to having this class together Jess and hope we can continue to learn about each other.
